  • Always improving our environmental-management system;
  • Reducing and preventing pollution
  • Eliminating hazardous waste to landfill (or eliminating waste, hazardous waste, unplanned releases, etc.)

WEEE Compliance

Under the European Union's waste electrical equipment and electronic (WEEE) directive, Thomson Broadcast is defined as a producer in the business-to-business category and its products fall under a Category III classification.

Pursuant to the WEEE directive, Thomson Broadcast will accept all Grass Valley™ and Thomson branded commercial products at an approved Thomson Broadcast electrical waste facility. Thomson Broadcast will pay for the costs associated with shipment and can provide you with a Certificate of Recycling or a Certificate of Destruction upon request.

Effective September 2005, all Grass Valley and Thomson commercial products are labeled per the CENELEC WEEE marking standard EN 50419. In addition, Thomson Broadcast has ensured that all requirements for registration, reporting, design and data tracking will be completed to meet the objectives of the WEEE directive.

Thomson Broadcast will adhere to its responsibilities under the WEEE directive but is well aware of the dynamics of the directive and will make any appropriate or required adjustments to its practices if deemed necessary.
